Draft
This policy is being finalised ahead of launch and may be updated. It describes how this website handles your information today.Who we are
This website is operated by Last Bar. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), Last Bar is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
Last Bar is currently developing a portable power-bank rental service. This policy covers this website only. If and when rentals launch, we will publish separate information about how rental data is handled.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you send an enquiry through one of our forms, we collect the information you enter. Depending on the form, this may include:
- your name and the name of your venue, company or organisation;
- your email address and, if you choose to give it, your phone number;
- the venue postcode or town, or event location and dates;
- details about your venue or event, such as its type, number of locations, footfall or attendance;
- anything you write in the message field;
- confirmation that you have read this policy.
Please don't include sensitive personal information (such as health information) in your message.
Technical information
To protect our forms from spam and abuse, the website briefly uses your IP address to limit how many enquiries can be sent in a short period. This is held temporarily in the server's memory and is not stored in a database or linked to your enquiry. Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the website running.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and does not set cookies for those purposes. Fonts are served from our own website, so no third-party font service receives your information when you visit. If we introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before using them.
How we use your information and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss a possible venue or event partnership, supply arrangement or your question. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries and developing our business. Where you are asking about a possible agreement with us, we may also rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To keep a record of our correspondence with you, on the basis of our legitimate interests.
- To protect our website from spam and misuse, on the basis of our legitimate interests in keeping it secure.
- To comply with the law, where we are legally required to keep or disclose information.
We do not use your information for marketing, and we do not sell it. We will not add you to a mailing list from an enquiry.
Who receives your information
Enquiries submitted through this website are not stored in a database on the website. They are sent to us by email using an email delivery service and kept in our email inbox. We use service providers that process information on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Vercel Inc. (website hosting)
- Resend (data processed in the EU, Ireland) (delivering enquiry emails)
- Google (Gmail) (our email inbox)
We may also share information with professional advisers, or where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we will make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, as required by UK data protection law.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, such as discussing a partnership with you and keeping a record of our correspondence. We will set out our specific retention period here before launch.
How we protect your information
The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to enquiry information to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict how we use your information;
- object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests; and
- in some circumstances, ask us to transfer your information to another organisation.
These rights are not absolute and some only apply in certain circumstances. We will respond within one month, as required by law.
Contact us or make a complaint
To make a privacy request or ask a question about this policy, email lastbar.uk@gmail.com.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the way we handle personal information changes — for example, when rentals launch or if we add new services to the website. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
